Mecca & Madina Periods:-
Unless one has truly studied the subject, one cannot readily realise that Muhammad and hence his Quran had gone through TWO distinct stages of evolution.
When he started preaching in Mecca, Muhammad was without much support and at the mercy of the Quraysh whom he was antagonising and insulting with his totally alien beliefs.
During this period, the Quranic verses exhibited the following characteristics:
1 Muhammad acted as a preacher, warning, proclaiming and promising
2 The earliest Suras were invariably brief, and consisted mainly of impassioned exhortations
3 They were conciliatory towards other people and more humble in their outlook
4 The 'revealed' verses of this period required that Allah alone was to be obeyed
5 They were more oriented towards parables and story telling
6 One cannot date the 13 years of Meccan Suras since they do not reflect upon or represent an event that can be anchored in history as well as the lack of adequate information regarding Muhammad's personal history. One can only surmise that some were earlier than the others.
2: 256 Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth stands out clear from error; whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.
8: 42 Remember ye were on the hither side of the valley and they on the farther side and the caravan on lower ground than ye. Even if ye had made a mutual appointment to meet ye would certainly have failed in the appointment: but (thus ye met) that Allah might accomplish a matter already enacted; that those who died might die after a clear sign (had been given) and those who lived might live after a clear sign (had been given). And verily Allah is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things).
16: 125 Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best who have strayed from His Path and who receive guidance.
21: 107 We sent thee not but as a mercy for all creatures.
68: 4 And thou (standest) on an exalted standard of character.
*** During his sojourn in Madina, when he became the leader of an ORAGANIZED PIRATICAL CRIME SYNDICATE, these characteristics changed dramatically to the following:
1 They became extremely more aggressive and warmongering
2 The Suras became preoccupied with practical matters and legislation most of which he PLAGIARIZED, PLUNDERED, PIRATED or PERVERTED from the traditions of the JEWS.
3 The verses lost their earlier 'spirituality' and became more politico-religious
4 They lost their conciliatory tone and became more hatemongering and totally intolerant
5 They lost their story telling character
6 From here on in, it was ALWAYS 'Allah AND his messenger' who had to be OBEYED
7 His new vision required that ALL of humanity had to be subject to
Allah and not only the Pagan Arabs
8 During this period, many of the Suras can be explained and dated since they reflect upon events that had occurred.
2: 216 Fighting is prescribed for you and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth and ye know not.
3: 85 If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah) never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good).
9: 5 But when the forbidden months are past then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them and seize them beleaguer them and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful.
9: 29 Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His apostle nor acknowledge the religion of truth (even if they are) of the People of the Book until they pay the Jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued.
47: 4 Therefore when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight) smite at their necks; at length when ye have thoroughly subdued them bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you some with others. But those who are slain in the way of Allah He will never let their deeds be lost.
*** Because of his UTTER FAILURE to change peoples' beliefs through reasoning and dialogue during his Meccan Period, Muhammad transformed his vision and version of Islam from a purely spiritual and conciliatory mission into a militant, unforgiving and punitive organization whose progress and expansion depended entirely on PLUNDER, SLAUGHTER, AGGRESSION, DECEPTION, ASSASSINATION, BOOTY and ENSLAVEMENT by predatory raids upon ALL THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN
' Allah AND his messenger'
the so called 'UNBELIEVERS'.
Even after almost 1400 years, Muhammadan Islam can only propagate itself and its message through TERROR, MASS MURDER, SUCIDE BOMBINGS ETC ***
